Coastal Welding Supply-AWG Company has an immediate opening for a Material Handler at our in-facility in Taylor, TX!

In this position, they perform product composition, quality sampling, and testing. Routine inspection, calibration, and repair of meter and associated equipment (meter tube/plates, ultrasonic meter)

*** This position is physically demanding and involves tasks such as moving, grinding/sanding, painting, and filling 50-150 lbs cylinders ****

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect gas cylinders to detect surface defects and test the thickness of cylinder walls.
Safely move gas cylinders off pallets onto testing equipment.
Calibrate and adjust ultrasonic testing equipment to the required standards and settings.
Review and interpret test results and documentation as they relate to local, state, and federal compliance and DOT regulations.
Record test results, cylinder serial number, and test date in a timely and accurate manner.
Stamp test date and label gas cylinders once ultrasonic testing is complete.
Ensure that defective cylinders or those requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
Inspect, maintain, and perform maintenance on ultrasonic testing equipment, as needed.
Operate computer equipment and value machine (if applicable) to conduct testing.
Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

High School graduate or GED equivalent
Able to read and write English
Mechanically inclined
Technical skills
Computer skills
